Detailed Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival at Kigali airport and transfer to volcanoes national park
Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda and is the Top ranking city for being clean among the East African countries. On your arrival at the airport or any place of pick up, our well-behaved driver guide will welcome you and take you through a quick briefing about the safari and start your journey to volcanoes national park. Check in the booked and relax.
Day 2. First Gorilla trekking and natural walk
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is best done in volcanoes national park that harbours mountain gorillas with 10 habituated gorilla families. During this safari of double gorilla trekking in Rwanda, you visit two different habituated gorilla families and take a chance to learn more about them within one hour. You will descend to the starting point to meet your safari driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Take note that, while in this national park the volcanoes most of the attractions can lead you to amazing activities. Therefore, after your delicious lunch, you will drive to lake Ruhondo and Burera which are twin lakes and reveal the wonders of nature in their wild. Water birds are to be recorded and activities done in and around these crater lakes plus how they were formed. Retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay after a great adventure.
Day 3. Second Gorilla trekking and hiking
On the 3 days of your safari to Rwanda for double gorilla trekking, you will wake up early in the morning for the breakfast and set off to the starting point as it has been like yesterday. No big change compared to the first trekking only that you are given another gorilla family to trek and add time to observe and learn more about these amazing great primate apes. After you will retreat to the lodge for lunch and prepare for another interesting adventure hiking.
Hiking in volcanoes becomes more colorful and enjoyable as come across many beautiful creatures like flowers, butterflies, bird species plus reptiles. Also, other primates can be spotted like monkeys and others though they are active at night. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4. Depart to Kigali
Kigali is the cleanest city in Africa and on day 4 it will mark the end of your double gorilla trekking safari to Rwanda. You will arise early morning from your warm bed, and sun bath as you wait for your last delicious breakfast and check out with the lodge heading back to Kigali. Depending on the time of the flight, visit the artisan/craft center to buy some souvenirs and support the Kigali locals. Be dropped off at the airport by your safari driver guide and fly back home.
