Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Road trip from Kampala to Murchison falls National Park, in north-western Uganda.

On this day you will take a trip to your first destination of the safari within north-western Uganda. Pick-up from the Hotel in Kampala after breakfast and embark on the 6-7 hours’ journey to Murchison falls National Park, the country’s largest Conservation Area extending for over 3840 square kilometers.

This Park was named after the magnificent Murchison falls formed when massive waters of Victoria Nile plunge through a narrow gorge of 7 meters and creating the 45-meter waterfalls with a roaring sound. En-route Lunch at Kabalega Diners or Masindi Town and arrive the Park in the afternoon, then proceed for the hike to the top of the falls. Take photos of the spectacular waterfalls and the iconic rainbow symbol at its top, then drive back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: A fulfilling morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.

The second day of your safari is dedicated to exploring the hidden treasures of Uganda’s oldest Conservation Area. Start with breakfast at the Lodge then head-out for the game drive through the designated game tracks running through the savannah grasslands offering views of Rothschild giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, Cape buffaloes, lions, Uganda Kobs, leopards, elephants, Oribis, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, Jackson’s hartebeests, serval cats and many others. As the sun gets hotter, your stomach also starts complaining and thus calls for a drive back to the Lodge for brunch or quick snack as short nap.

After your short relaxation, have Lunch and be driven to Paraa jetty where you will meet with your guides for the boat cruise on the calm waters of River Nile. Cruise slowly while appreciating and capturing photos of the spectacular scenery, bird species (such as open-billed storks, shoebill storks, Marabou storks, secretary birds, African fish eagles, pink-backed pelicans and many others) and Nile crocodiles as well as Hippos basking in the deep waters.

This is probably the closest you will ever get to crocodiles and also look-out for the visiting elephants, buffaloes and Uganda Kobs on the banks of the River. At this point you would wish to go on and on but sunset means returning back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: All day transfer from Murchison falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park.

This day is for transferring to Kibale Forest National Park but this is after a lovely breakfast at the Lodge. Embark on the 7-8 hours’ drive to the lush jungles of Kibale Forest, popularly known as the Primate Capital of the World with over 13 different species of primates. Besides Chimpanzees, other primates likely to be encountered in this Park are olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, bushbabies, Pottos, L’Hoests monkeys and Patas monkeys among others in addition to over 350 species of birds.

While being rewarded with views of the Lake Albert flats and escarpments, snow-capped peaks of Rwenzori Mountains and the countryside be ushered to Fort Portal Town for Lunch. Drive straight to the Lodge outside or within Kibale Forest National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Full day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale Forest National Park.

Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is one of the most sought-after tourist activities in Kibale Forest National Park and for your tour, you will get the chance to enjoy it. On this day, you will wake up very early for breakfast and be at the Park Headquarters (Kanyanchu Visitor center) by 6:00am for briefing and immediately follow a team of Researchers habituating chimpanzees.

During this activity, you will watch the chimpanzees from the time they leave their nests and go about with their daily activities-foraging, mating, resting, grooming and playing until the evening when they make their nests. Isn’t it amazing and rewarding? This full day experience requires carrying packed Lunch and enough drinking water because you will return to the Lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Depart Kibale Forest National Park for Kampala City.

Breakfast and check-out of the Lodge for a drive back to Kampala City. First, take a tour of the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru Caves to explore the breast-like stalactites and stalagmites as well as breathtaking waterfalls then hike the three Crater Lakes (of Kigere, Saka and Kikere).

Proceed for lunch in Fort portal city and drive straight to Kampala, then connect to a Hotel or Entebbe International Airport for the booked flight to your next destination.
