Uganda officially declared Ebola free
Uganda has been declared free of the Ebola Sudan virus following a complete break in all transmission chains. The country now moves into a 90-day surveillance period to ensure there are no remnant traces of the infection. Walter Mwesigye was in the Mubende district where the announcement was made and starts us off.
This Declaration was made by the Uganda’s Minister of Health Hon. Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Acheng and other Health Experts and Diplomats; Yan Sadec, EU Ambassador to Uganda, Natalie E Brown, US Ambassador to Uganda Development Partners; Yonas Tegegn Country Representative, World Health Organisations, Nabendra Dahal, Chief, Basic Education &Adolescent Development UNICEF, Health Technocrats.
