Overview
This 4 days Rwanda gorillas and Bisoke hike will take you to the Volcanoes national park found in Rwanda which is one of the Virunga mountains to see the mountain gorillas in their wild and take a chance to view other interesting things during this adventure like beautiful birds, butterflies and many others.
You will also hike mount Bisoke and which will lead you to giant elephants, buffalos, rhinos and a great view while standing at the top of the hike.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival at Kigali airport and transfer to volcanoes national park
On your arrival at the airport in Kigali, the safari driver guide will warmly welcome you and brief you about the safari. Have a simple snack in the city of Kigali then continue to check in with the booked lodge. Have your lunch and after opt to do any activity or relax and just bird around the lodge as you prepare for gorilla trekking the next day.
Day 2. Gorilla trekking
You will wake early morning on day 2 of your Rwanda gorilla trekking and Bisoke hike, have your well-prepared breakfast and set off to the park headquarters. You will be briefed by the ranger guide who will lead you into the jungle in search of gorillas. You will be provided only one hour to be spent in presence of gorillas as you see how they groom each which is a sign of friendship among primates, the care mothers give to the infants and many interesting things these primates have. After the experience descends to the lodge for late lunch and relax with an optional activity.
Day 3. Mount Bisoke hike
Mount Bisoke also known as “Visoke” is an active volcano in the Virunga mountain of the Albertine Rift. For that matter, after an early breakfast, you will set off for the journey to the starting point at the park headquarters at Kinigi where the offices are situated. The ranger guide will brief you about the hike and lead you to the hike. The hike from the base to the top of Bisoke takes about four hours to reach the top and getting there a lot of amazing creatures are spotted like mountains and hills since Rwanda is a land of a thousand hills, giant elephants, buffalo and many more.
Thereafter, retreat to the lodge for dinner and stay for a night.
Day 4. Departure
On this day, which is the last day of your safari tour to Rwanda, a land of thousand of hills, you will wake up early morning for breakfast and embark on your journey to Rwanda. Have your lunch in the cleanliness city in Africa “Kigali” and after having a short city tour and get a chance to visit the genocide memorial site, Kimironko market, Kaplaki handcraft market and many more. Be dropped off at the airport and fly back home.
