7 Days Uganda Gorillas & Serengeti National Park Safari

Overview

This 7-day safari is a one-week into the tropical rain forest and the sweeping savanna plains to see primates and big game respectively. A gorilla trekking experience to view Uganda gorillas will be done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to 459 rare mountain gorillas.

The big 5-game wildlife viewing expedition and a gigantic wildebeest migration will be enjoyed while in the Serengeti National Park.

Safari Highlights

Day 1: Pick up at the airport & transfer to the hotel

A welcome from our professional driver guide, get briefed about this exceptional one-week expedition. Transfer from Entebbe Airport (Uganda) to your booked hotel for dinner and a night’s sleep.

Day 2: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park, home to 21 habituated families

After enjoying breakfast, meet the driver guide and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Setting off from Entebbe via Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale allows you to explore other sites in Uganda and the Equator crossing will be a prime stopover spot, and then lunch at the Igongo cultural center.

Continue driving to the Southwestern side of Uganda with great views of the stunning sceneries.

Day 3: Visit Bwindi national park for gorilla trekking adventure & Batwa cultural tour

Delicious breakfast enjoyed at the lodge and you will set off to Bwindi offices to be briefed and also get assigned to gorilla family to visit. Each group comprising 8 trekkers will get a group to visit and an experienced park guide to accompany them. Many factors determine how long your gorilla trek will take including your speed of trek and the location of gorilla families.

In an estimate, you may spend 2-6 hours and includes one hour watching these apes as they groom each other, play, copulate and feed.

Lunch and refreshments will be had when you return to the lodge and you will have a cultural experience in the Batwa pygmies. Entertainment from Batwa traditional and cultural dances and music performances all await you on a cultural treat.

Day 4: Drive to Kigali – border crossing via Katuna / Cyanika

Enjoy breakfast early and you will leave Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Kigali. Drop off at Kigali airport where you will take a flight to Arusha in Tanzania, and our representative in Tanzania will pick you up for a transfer to an overnight hotel.

Day 5: Go explore the Serengeti National Park

A hearty breakfast early morning followed by a transfer to Serengeti National Park about a half-day drive from Arusha. Serengeti national park is one of Tanzania’s most extensive parks, stretching more than 14763 sq.km, and lies in the northern tourist circuit. Drive at a pace that permits you to enjoy the picturesque views of the rift valley and arrive early to relax, dine and spend a night.

Day 6: Big game safari & wildebeest migration experience

You will have a complete day driving through Serengeti National Park and using a 4×4 tourist car, expect uninterrupted views of wildlife such as cheetahs, buffaloes, lions, elephants, warthogs, wildebeest, giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, zebras, and birds.

Leave the lodge with a pack of lunch because it will be a long day of exploring Serengeti and its natural endowments. The Maasai community tour will be done in the evening and you will be interacting with the Maasai people, the best experience for any enthusiastic cultural traveler.

Day 7: Drive back to Arusha

A leisurely cup of tea or coffee and after, check out then set off back to Arusha. You exit Serengeti with a short game drive and once you arrive at Arusha, connect to the airport for departure or a hotel to spend a night as you wait to transfer to the next destination.
