14 Days Discover Uganda Primates & Wildlife

The 14 days Uganda safari offers a thrilling experience in Uganda’s top destinations. It takes you through the country’s diverse wildlife, unique landscape, and thrilling cultural encounter.

The main focus on this long safari holiday involves visiting Kibale Forest National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, the source of the Nile at Jinja and other en-route stop visit. Your 14 days Uganda safari begins and ends in Kampala/Entebbe.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to the hotel in Kampala.

After your arrival at Entebbe Airport, get a warm welcome from our representative and later, followed by quick briefing. You will have an afternoon around Kampala Uganda and later, connect to your preferred hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Source of R. Nile tour in Jinja.

Leave Kampala for Jinja to explore the source of the Nile and this will be after breakfast in your hotel. Drive through Mukono with en-route visit at Ssezibwa Falls and at the source of the Nile, expect to engage in half day white water rafting experience.

In case time allows, you will pay a visit at Itanda Falls and then return to Kampala, Uganda in the evening.

Day 3: Transfer to Budongo Forest.

Have an early morning breakfast and after, drive to Budongo Forest your next destination. En-route, make a stopover at Luwero Town to have some fruits and later, proceed to Budongo Forest to check into your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest.

Breakfast early morning and after, briefing on chimp tracking etiquette at Kaniyo-Pabidi. At 8:00am, head to search for your chimpanzee community with park guide on lead and takes 2-4 hours that is inclusive of one hour for photography. Return for lunch and then proceed to top of the Murchison Falls.

Day 5: Game drive & afternoon boat cruise.

Begin your day with morning breakfast and after, get on the journey to enjoy your game drive taking you 2-3 hours. This gets you incredible view of wildlife species including the Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, elephants, leopards, birds and this includes shoebill storks.

Return from a game drive and be offered lunch before getting on an afternoon boat or launch trip lasting for 2-3 hours. On a boat cruise, expect to head towards the bottom of Murchison Falls, enjoy sight of hippos, crocodiles and aquatic bird species.

Day 6: Delta boat cruise/ride & travel to Hoima.

Have breakfast and after, go enjoy a boat cruise to the delta point. This lets you enjoy good view of waterbirds including shoebill stork; hippos, crocodiles and get back to have lunch.

After, drive to Hoima while viewing the Albertine rift valley and upon arrival, check into a hotel in Hoima Town.

Day 7: Leave Hoima Town for Kibale forest.

Breakfast in the morning and after, depart Hoima for Kibale Forest National Park. Go through traditional homesteads and enjoy excellent view of tea plantations in Fort Portal. Lunch be enjoyed en-route in Fort Portal and check into the lodge in Kibale Forest Uganda.

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale.

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, transfer to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre to be briefed on etiquette for chimp tracking in Kibale National Park Uganda. Starting at 8:00am after briefing and once the guide is allocated to you, go look for a habituated chimpanzee community.

This will be a 2-4 hours on-foot-walk experience that includes viewing not only chimpanzees but also the red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, birds and others. Get back to chill at the lodge, have lunch and next will be visiting Bigodi Wetland in the afternoon.

Day 9: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda.

Have a tasty cup of tea/coffee and after, spend 2-3 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park-Uganda. En-route, have good sight of the Crater Lakes, lunch be had in Kasese and upon getting to Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) for an afternoon game drive.

Day 10: Game drive & launch cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Get up for your breakfast and later, leave the lodge for 2-3 hours’ game viewing experience. Drive via Kasenyi Plains while sighting species of wildlife including African elephants, Cape buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, waterbucks, lions, Kobs, birds and others.

Return from the savanna plains of Kasenyi and have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will have another 2-3 hours’ boat or launch cruise along Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds. Get back from Kazinga channel boat cruise to relax, dine and spend a night at the lodge.

Day 11: Leave Queen Elizabeth N/Park for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Early morning breakfast and later, drive towards Katwe Salt Lake. Later, proceed to Ishasha area to see the tree climbing lions. After, your next visit will be Bwindi in Southwestern Uganda.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking.

Breakfast in the morning and later, proceed to Bwindi offices for briefing before setting off for actual gorilla trekking experience beginning at 8:00am. You will take 2-6 hours on gorilla trekking adventure and this includes 1 hour of face to face with family of mountain gorillas in the wild. The park has 20 habituated families distributed around its 4 regions; Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija sector and Nkuringo gorilla trekking regions.

Day 13: Drive from Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park.

Following an early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge for Lake Mburo N/Park Uganda. You will be driven via the rolling Kigezi hills and lunch be offered en-route then game drive shortly. You will enjoy a full boat cruise in the afternoon along Lake Mburo where you will sight some hippos, crocodiles, water birds.

Day 14: Lake Mburo NP to Kampala.

Have breakfast and after, you will set off for a guided nature walk along Lake Mburo shores. You will come across some zebras, reedbucks, buffaloes, birds and others. Get back to check out of the lodge in Lake Mburo prepared to drive back to Kampala with en-route stopover at Equator crossing.
