3 days bonobo chimpanzees trekking tour

Overview

Bonobos are great primate apes with no tail In short form. They are human-like and they can be found in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This 3 days tour will probably start in Kinshasa and takes you to these amazing creatures in Lola bonobo then back to Kinshasa and fly back home.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Kinshasa and transfer to Lola ya bonobo sanctuary

On your first day of the safari depending on the time of arrival you will have a short briefing about the safari and embark on your journey to Lola ya bonobo.  Lola ya bonobo is a Lingala word which means a paradise for Bonobos.

It was founded by Claudine Andre in the year of 1994. It will take you only two hours to drive from Kinshasa to this point which is about 125 kilometers. Continue and check in the booked lodge for lunch with an optional activity in the afternoon or relax.

Day 2: Bonobo trekking

After having your breakfast accompanied by either a cup of tea or coffee, you will set off for the bonobo trekking. You are shortly briefed about the bonobos, and how behave while in their presence with them. Only three hours are to be spent with these amazing great apes as learn more about them, like they feed, copulate, mothers give care to the infants and many more.

It is the most amazing experience and memorable one should not miss while on his/her safari to D R of Congo. Retreat to the lodge for lunch and after you can opt to have an evening guided nature walk to get to know more about the bonobos.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kinshasa

On this last day of your tour, arise early morning from your bed, sunbath as you wait for delicious breakfast, then after checking out of the lodge and embark on your journey to Kinshasa city.

As you leave the lodge you will drive slowly as take a chance to spot other wondering creatures in this area and continue to Kinshasa. Have lunch in town and if you still have time depending on the flight do a simple city tour and later fly back home.
