Overview
This 3-days lake Mburo national park safari will take you to a rare activity in the country that is horseback riding which is only done in Lake Mburo national park and ninja. The game drive is also covered while on this safari where a lot of wild animals are spotted such as zebras, Impalas, elephants, bush pigs and more.
Birding will take you to the most beautiful bird species and also enjoy their melodies, birds include red-faced Barbet, bare face go-away birds, papyrus gonolek and many more. Also other interesting and memorial creatures will come across as the safari goes on.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival at the airport and transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Meet the safari driver guide at the airport or hotel depending on your place of location. He/ she will brief you about the safari and start your journey to Lake Mburo national park. You will have a stopover at Kayabwe equator for lunch and continue with the journey to check in with the booked lodge. Due to the time of arrival, you can opt to do an evening birding around the lodge or relax while waiting for dinner.
Day 2. Game drive and horseback riding
Lake Mburo national park is a Savannah park located in the western parts of Uganda that offers the best experience of game driving. You will wake up early morning and set off for the early drive to catch up with the predators on the hunt. After you will have your bush breakfast then after embark on your drive in search of more wildlife that would have been missed in the first session. Retreat to the lodge for lunch and relax for a short time as you prepare for the next activity.
Having your lunch after, you will drive to Mihingo safari lodge which organizes the ride and the activity takes about 4 to 5 hours. You ride through the park with the help of the ranger guide for security purposes and take a chance to spot the missed wildlife during the morning game drive. You will retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight stays after the experience.
Day 3. Birding and departure
Birding is an activity that is done early morning and late in the evening when birds are active catching the insects that fly early for morning sunbath, therefore, you will wake up early in the morning for the breakfast and check out with the lodge then head for the last activity. Many birds will be recorded for example the red-faced Barbet, bare face go-away bird, papyrus gonolek and many more.
After this great adventure, you will proceed with the journey to Kampala with a stopover at Kayabwe equator for lunch, having fun taking photos and visiting the craft shop also and buying some souvenirs to take home for remembrance. Embark on the journey direct to Kampala and be dropped at the airport and fly back home.
