Our 3 Days Lake Mburo NP Safari takes you to Uganda’s smallest Savannah National Park, endowed with endless beauties, inclusive of which are rare wildlife species such as Common elands, Burchell’s zebras, impalas, Defassa waterbucks, Topis, Cape buffaloes, bushbucks, Rothschild giraffes, hippos, warthogs, Olive baboons, not forgetting plethora of bird species.
This park is the only wilderness Area where horseback rides are conducted and for this safari, you will get the chance to ride in the midst of zebras, buffaloes and waterbucks. Also expect to undertake boat rides as well as unrivalled game viewing experience among others.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Drive from Kampala City to Lake Mburo National and afternoon boat ride.
Leave Kampala City in the morning for Lake Mburo National Park, after a lovely breakfast at your place of residence. Drive to the country’s smallest savannah National Park with a stop at the Equator (in Kayabwe) for photography as well as a chance to stand in both southern and Northern hemispheres. Continue with the scenic drive through the lush savannah grasslands while encountering vast banana plantations as well as sights of the long-horned Ankole cattle.
After a journey of about 3-4 hours, you will be ushered to Lake Mburo National Park, where you will check-in at the reserved Safari Lodge (with the help of your safari guide) for lunch. Proceed for a boat ride on Lake Mburo where you will come across Nile crocodiles and Hippos as well as wide array of bird species.
Day 2: Guided nature walks and afternoon/evening game drive.
Be up early for a cup of hot tea/coffee before embarking on a guided nature walk through specific area of the spectacular Lake Mburo National Park. During walk, you will be interested in encountering common elands, Defassa waterbucks, impalas, warthogs and others including their habitats and exceptional behaviors. Walking safaris through the salt licks are more rewarding because majority of the Park’s wildlife species are found here.
Lunch will be on return to the Lodge and in the afternoon head for the game drive where more of Lake Mburo National Park’s hidden beauty will be uncovered. In the evening enjoy sunset views of the Park and get back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Horseback Ride and return to Kampala City.
Breakfast at your Safari Lodge and proceed to Mihingo Safari Lodge (if you are staying in another Lodge). On arrival, be briefed and trained by professional horse riders on the horseback riding adventure and begin the ride through the Park and midst zebras, Defassa waterbucks, impalas, Rothschild giraffes, warthogs, bushbucks and common elands among others.
The spectacular landscape and terrain of this Park favors horseback rides and later return to the lodge for lunch. Embark on a return journey to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport where you will arrive in the evening. This marks the end of our 3 days Lake Mburo N/Park Safari.
