This tour takes you to Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area, Murchison falls national park. Located in north-western Uganda, it spans over an area of 3,840 Sq.km inhabiting lots of wildlife and birdlife, ranging from more than 451 bird species including the rare shoebill stork, over 76 different species of mammals with some not found anywhere else in Uganda.
A game drive in Murchison Falls N/Park exposes one to magical sightings including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, lions, warthogs and different kinds of antelopes.
The stunning Victoria Nile which bisects the park gives way to morning AND afternoon boat trips that takes visitors to the bottom of Murchison falls, a perfect moment for sighting aquatic life and numerous birdlife. Day 1: Depart for Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala!
Early pick up from the airport or from any preferred pick up point, and begin a 5 hour drive to Uganda’s most dramatic national park. Along the way, there’s an option of visiting Rhino sanctuary in Nakitoma, Nakasongola district. The sanctuary is a rhino breeding center, presently home to 30 rhinos which can only be explored on foot, with an armed ranger guide. This tour can be undertaken as an optional tour, costing only 50$ per person for Foreigners and 30,000/= for East African citizens.
After this 2 hours’ experience, have lunch at Amuka lodge and proceed to the park either through Masindi town or through Karuma falls depending on the booked lodge. In the evening, you may decide to have a short game drive in the northern sector or drive to top of the magnificent Murchison falls for epic photographic moments and sight-seeing.
Day 2: Explore Murchison Falls N/Park – Game drive and boat cruise.
Depart the lodge at 6:45am after a well deserving breakfast! Get ready for a memorable game drive in northern sector of the park, traversing through the famous Buligi track, stretching between Albertine Nile and Victoria Nile. Proceed down to the Albert Delta where most mammals, birds and aquatic residents congregate.
Return to your lodge for lunch and short relaxation as you prepare for the 2:00pm boat cruise along Victoria Nile. The boat departs from Paraa central area, stretching to the bottom of thunderous Murchison falls. Enroute you’ll blessed with unique sightings as numerous birds, reptiles, mammals throng the rich shores of River Nile.
After the trip, disembark from the boat and join your guide for a return transfer back to your booked lodge.
Day 3: Short game drive and return to Kampala.
This your last day in Murchison Falls National park, beginning with a 1-2 hour game drive to spot some of the animals you might have missed on the previous game drives. Drive along the delta area and Wangkwar sector and get a final opportunity of spotting more wildlife and priceless scenery.
Exit the park after this experience and drive back to Kampala with an enroute stopover to enjoy lunch. Arrive in Kampala between 1700hrs and 1830hrs for your onward flight or relaxation at a hotel.
