The 3 days Ngorongoro Safari is one of the most unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater Safari packages, based in the west of Arusha Town. This Safari also involves exploring Olduvai Gorge, the Ngorongoro Crater-the main attraction within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and one of the seven Natural wonders of Africa.
The area is also famous for numerous wildlife species – Black rhinos, Cape buffaloes, and East African wild dogs, wildebeests, blue monkeys, Oribis, Hippos, Topis, common elands, spotted hyenas, cheetahs, serval cats, Defassa waterbucks, Grant’s zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, Masai giraffes, Impalas and many others. Prolific bird species are a characteristic of this Conservation Area with several grey-crowned cranes, lesser flamingos, silvery-cheeked hornbills and many others.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Drive from Arusha Town to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Meet and greet with your driver guide at the Airport or any other location in Arusha Town and be briefed on the itinerary. It is during this meeting that you will be taken through the activities and possibly time schedules, receive receipts then start the drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where your 3 days/2 nights’ safari will be based. Make a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge (fossil evidence for hominid species that lived in the area for over 3 million years) and be at your final destination in the afternoon for Lunch.
In the afternoon undertake a game drive to search for the wide range of wildlife species that roam through the vast plains of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Look-out for the Grant’s zebras, wildebeests, the elusive leopards, Rhinos, cheetahs, lions, spotted hyenas, jackals, Oribis, common elands, Defassa waterbucks, Warthogs, serval cats and many others. As the sunsets, you prepare for a return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full day in Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On this day, we shall undertake a full day game drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will start the day with breakfast and head-out for a game drive to admire the true African wilderness that this Area is while boasting of the beautiful Crater, open savannah grasslands and natural hot springs.
These areas, especially the crater attracts wide range of wildlife species such as elephants, Lions, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, bushbucks, Masai giraffes, impalas, Oribis, Cape buffaloes and warthogs among others. Also, plenty of birds and butterfly species will be encountered during this game drive and later take a break for Lunch.
After your picnic lunch, continue with the game drive to explore other areas in the Conservation Area with more species such as serval cats, flamingos, grey-crowned cranes and secretary birds among others. You will then retire from this game drive to relax, have dinner and overnight stay at the same lodge as the previous day.
Day 3: Game drive in Ngorongoro Conservation Area and drive to Arusha Town.
On the final day of your safari, have breakfast and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a game drive for a transfer to Arusha Town, where you will be dropped off at either the Airport or hotel. This marks the end of your 3 days Ngorongoro Safari.
