Day 1: Kampala / Entebbe to Kibale National Park.
Have an early breakfast in Kampala or early pick up from Entebbe airport. With our dedicated safari driver, you will be in safe hands and exit the city to start your wilderness experience. Drive through the central towns of Mityana, Mubende, Kyegegwa and Kyenjojo until you finally arrive in Fort portal tourism city.
Take lunch from Garden’s restaurant or at your booked lodge, followed by a city tour in the afternoon; explore the Karuzika palace which is a seat for the current king of Toro. Learn about the history of Toro kingdom and Fort portal as a city. Also drive away from town to discover the historical Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves located on the base of Mweganywa hill.
Thereafter return and check in at your place of accommodation, awaiting following day’s chimpanzee trekking adventure.
Day 2: Chimp trekking in Kibale forest and afternoon Bigodi wetland walk.
Take breakfast at 0600hrs in the morning and get ready for a pre-chimp trekking briefing session at 8:00am and later penetrate inside Kibale forest for a primate adventure like nowhere else! This forest is known for its variety of primate species, but most importantly the most sought after chimps. Other primate residents you can meet on the trek include L’Hoest’s monkeys, Red colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, and mangabeys.
The experience is enjoyable and informative, as the ranger guide explains to you all the flora and fauna diversity in Kibale forest. At the end of the walk, you’ll appreciate the fact that Kibale forest is indeed a primate capital of the world.
Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, take a nature walk through Bigodi wetland and spot a diversity of birds and wildlife. The wetland is home to the rare great blue turaco, swamp sitatunga, butterflies and numerous primate species.
Day 3: Depart Kibale forest, back to Kampala/Entebbe.
Have tasty breakfast at your lodge overlooking the numerous scenic Kabarole craters. Visit the Ndali-Kasenda craters where you can undertake a morning canoe ride and magnificent photographic moments.
Later proceed on a drive back to Kampala with an enroute lunch and departure flight through Entebbe airport.
