Overview
Our short tour to Uganda will take you to Bwindi National Park a home of almost half of the gorilla population in the whole world. You will spend 4 hours in the jungle Infront of a gorilla group during the habituation experience.
Gorilla habituation is only done in Rushaga sector, one of the four sectors in Bwindi located in southern part of the park. The overall tour is amazing since you will be entitled to several stopovers such as the one at the equator point and another one at Igongo cultural Centre for lunch. Great photographic points are also well designed to create everlasting memories.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Rushaga sector of Bwindi National Park
Transfer to Bwindi national park in Rushaga sector a journey that will last for 8 to 9 hours’ drive depending on the speed of your assigned driver guide. The road trip will include several stopovers – at Uganda equator and Mbarara for lunch at Igongo cultural center. There is a lot to enjoy while on this journey to Bwindi National Park such as the rolling hills, plantations of Matoke (bananas) and tea, forests and much more. Arrive late in the evening and check in the booked accommodation.
Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience
Begin the day with breakfast and head to the park offices for briefing with your packed lunch. Briefing is conducted by the park ranger guide or warden where the rules and regulations to follow while on the gorilla habituation experience such as no use of flash light cameras, don’t feed wild animals, always keep a distance of 10 metres, don’t eat, smoke or drink in front of the gorillas, always stay calm and don’t run when a gorilla charges and many others.
The experience will be under the guidance of a park ranger guide and on locating the gorilla group, you will spend 4 hours in their presence and this will be of great reward. After the overall experience which can even last for 7 to 8 hours, retreat to the lodge and this will be the end of the day.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
Head back to Kampala with a stopover at the Uganda equator, a point where the equator crosses Uganda. At this point, you will take photos, buy souvenirs and have enroute lunch. Proceed to Kampala and be dropped at any agreed point.
