This tour introduces you to the magical Kibumba tented camp and the shelters of Mt. Nyiragongo as you enjoy gorilla trekking at Virunga National Park and hiking along the elegant Nyiragongo Volcano.

Day one: Pick up from Goma.
Virunga park rangers are the ones that pick you up as soon as you arrive at the Grande Barriere boarder from where you purchase gorilla trekking permits and hiking permits for Nyiragongo.
You will then spend a night filled with relaxation at Kibumba tented camp in the heart of Virunga conservation area.
Day two: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park.
After an early breakfast, prepare for a supernatural experience with mountain gorillas. Here you will engage in a short briefing offered by park guides. These will take you through rules and regulations governing gorilla trekking in this area.
You will then penetrate Virunga’s historical misty jungles. Here you explore mountain gorillas, birds, primates and insects. You then meet fully habituated mountain gorilla families as they play, mate and dine. You have a full hour of experience with these giant apes as you take pictures.
You immediately retreat to the station for lunch in the afternoon. You can also indulge in an evening walk as you watch birds and other fauna.
Day three: Nyiragongo volcano hiking.
After a delicious breakfast, you head to Nyiragongo volcano for a climbing adventure. This is word’s most active volcano. You attend briefing, and assigned a guide or porters (privately hired together with hiking equipment). The journey commences at 10:00am and lasts for five hours. You then spend an entire night at the peak of Nyiragongo volcano. Here you view the cob-web like magma which is responsible for recent volcanic eruption that happened in 2021.
Day four: Departure.
Immediately start your journey down the mountain after breakfast at around 6:00am. The trek lasts for only four hours where you will reconnect with your guide and head to Goma city for an overnight stay. He will lead you to Rwanda and leave via Kigali; the capital of Rwanda.
