5 days Kidepo NP and Sipi falls tour

Overview

This 5 days Kidepo National Park and Sipi fall tour will take you to explore the most wilderness of Africa in Kidepo Valley National Park in North Eastern Uganda where you will take part in game drives and community tours, hike Sipi falls and then visit Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will trek the rhinos.

This is the only place where you can spot the rhinos in the jungle. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings covered with tea plantations, bananas, natural forests, and roadside markets that sell fresh fruits. Animals that won’t be missed on spotting are giraffes, zebras, buffalos, jackals, elephants and much more.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Gulu Town with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

Begin your safari with a pick-up from any agreed point in either Entebbe or Kampala and transfer to Gulu Town with a stopover at the roadside markets to buy fresh fruits. Another stopover will be at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will encounter the rhinos during Rhino trekking. The experience lasts for 2 hours but has rewarding memories. After lunch at one of the roadside restaurants, proceed to Gulu Town where you will spend a night’s break.

Day2. Transfer to Kidepo National Park and evening game drive

Leave Gulu for Kidepo with a stopover at Aruu falls where you will encounter different photographic points. Your driver guide will offer you the best road trip to Kidepo valley National Park, the most isolated national park in Uganda located in far northeastern Uganda at the border of Kenya and south Sudan. This park is known to host large herds of buffalos in Africa with untouched beautiful scenery. Arrive and have an evening game drive, where you will spot wildlife such as giraffes, leopards, lions, elephants and much more.

Day3. Game drive and Karamajong cultural experience

Have a morning game drive in the park plains where you will explore animals that will be grazing such as zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, warthogs, jackals, lions, cheetahs, leopards and many more. The game drive will last for 2 to 3 hours but very rewarding and exciting. In the afternoon, you will head to visit the Karamajong manyattas where you get entertained by the cultural music and dances, taste The traditional meals, and many more others. Learning about this African culture is rewarding since they are related to the Masai people of Kenya in terms of being pastoralists.

Day4. Transfer to Sipi falls

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and find a way to Sipi falls a journey that will take about 7 to 8 hours. As you are still passing through the park, spot different wildlife such as bird species, mammals and much more. En-route stopover will be at any point for tasting the local dishes as you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding. Arrive in Sipi and check into the booked accommodation which can be a resort hotel.

Day5. Hike Sipi and transfer back to Kampala

Wake and enjoy a heavy breakfast which will be followed by a quick brief about the Sipi hike. The local guide will begin the experience as you pass through the Arabic coffee plantations on the Slopes of Mt Elgon. Learn about coffee growing and then start the hike which will offer you three different falls at different levels. The local guide will take you through the formation and cultural stories attached to Sipi falls. Have wonderful photographic moment and then transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe with en-route stopovers like that on the roadside market. The 5 days Kidepo NP and Sipi falls tour will end after a drop off at any agreed point.
