6 Days Uganda Safari

Overview

This 6 days Uganda safari looks more like a 10 days safari due to the attractions covered in these days such as exploring amazing nature of Queen Elizabeth national park by spotting lions, giant elephants, iconic sights, buffaloes and many others.

This will take you to primate capital of the world – Kibale forest national park for the great apes’ experience – the chimpanzees, man’s closest relatives. The trip starts from Jinja for bungee jumping experience and kayaking without forgetting crater lakes exploration still while in Kibale national park. Beautiful bird species will also be recorded as the safari continues.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Be picked up and transfer to transfer to the hotel

Our driver guide will welcome you at the airport and drive you to the booked and organized hotel/lodge. Immediately as you get there done with checking in he will brief you about the safari while taking a cup of tea or coffee and stay for a night as the trip start next day.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja; bungee jumping and kayaking adventure

On this day your trip will start in the city of Jinja which is well known as city with most amazing activity experience among all cities in Uganda. After breakfast drive heading to Jinja for bange jumping experience which is the most amazing and memorable experience where you jump from the canopy and fall down in water. Reaching down the boat will rescue and ride you out of water as you record most of the beautiful species of birds and many other interesting things around.

You will retreat after having your lunch for another great adventure known as kayaking which is also done on water where you play with water but in modernized boats as you get a chance to explore the longest river in Africa the river Nile. Retreat to the lodge after the experience for dinner and stay for the night as you prepare for departure next morning.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park

Arise early morning, have your well-prepared breakfast and leave the city, heading deeply in the village for the amazing adventure. You will have stop-over in the tourism city of Fort Portal for lunch and relaxation then proceed to Kibale to the booked lodge for dinner and overnight stays.

Day 4: Chimpanzees trekking and crater lakes exploration

Chimpanzees trekking in Kibale is the most selling activity as others follow and it is in two shifts that’s the morning shift which starts at 8:00 and the afternoon shift that starts at 2:00p. Therefore, have your well-prepared breakfast as early as possible and drive heading Kanyanchu visitor’s center for briefing.

You will be briefed about what you are supposed to do and what not to do while in the jungle. The ranger guide will lead you in search for chimpanzees where you will have a chance to spot other primates like the red colobus monkey which is the endemic species of Kibale forest national park and many others.

Descend to the lodge for lunch then after your safari guide will drive to Isunga community for crater lakes exploration. You will explore three crater lakes in four hours with an amazing view point where you will see all of them while standing in one point. Depending on weather conditions also mountain Rwenzori ranges can be seen clearly during this walk. Embark on your journey to the lodge for dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, evening game drive

The drive will take you about 4 hours’ drive from Kibale forest national park to Queen Elizabeth national park, therefore after having your breakfast set off to Queen Elizabeth via crater lakes in Kibale and proceed to check in. You will check in with the booked lodge and have your lunch then after head to park headquarters for the ranger guide to lead you to the spots of most wildlife.

You have high chances of spotting most of the interesting wildlife for example the giant elephants, feeding alongside the road, the rare tree climbing lions resting up in the trees, large herds of buffalos, antelopes, crocodiles and bird species. Beautiful bird species can also be recorded during the drive. After this amazing adventure retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Morning game drive and retreat to Kampala

You will wake up early morning for the last breakfast in Queen Elizabeth national park at your lodge and check out with the lodge back to Kampala. You will have your morning game drive via the southern sector to again spot the tree climbing lions and other interesting wildlife that you would have missed during your evening drive on the arrival. Enjoy your lunch in Mbarara city early morning day and embark on your journey to Kampala. You will have a stopover at Kayabwe equator to take some photos and buy souvenirs to take home.
