Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Nairobi capital city to Aberdares National Park.
First day of your 7 days Kenya safari begins with pick up by an experienced driver guide from the hotel in Nairobi after you have had a delicious cup of tea or coffee. Following thereafter is a short tour briefing and later, set off on 3 and half-hour’s road trip to Aberdares National Park Kenya, East of Nairobi capital.
Upon early arrival, check into your safari lodge and later, you will have enjoyable afternoon game drive. The interesting species to expect to come across on a game viewing tour in Aberdares range from the Cape buffaloes, Giant forest hogs, elephants, leopards, lions, side stripped jackal, bushbucks, East African wild dogs, birds. Besides, don’t miss the breathtaking views of Aberdares ranges/hills and volcanic outcrops. After, get back for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at the respective lodges.
Day 2: Morning game drive in Aberdares and drive to Lake Nakuru.
After an early morning breakfast, leave the lodge for yet another exciting game viewing experience in Aberdares. Look out for the early morning risers and then transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, a renowned destination for flamingos. En-route, cross via the Equator crossing and the Great Rift Valley Escarpment while enjoying the jaw-dropping views. Lunch be served at the lodge in Lake Nakuru and after, go enjoy an afternoon game drive.
On a game drive along the lush wilderness of Lake Nakuru, expect to come across variety of interesting wildlife ranging from waterbucks, black and white rhinos, giraffes, Thompson gazelles, zebras and diversity of birds. Some of the Lake Nakuru’s interesting avifaunal species include pink shade flamingoes, great crowned cranes, Abyssinian thrush, and grey headed woodpecker. Later, drive back to the lodge for chill, dine and spend a night.
Day 3: From Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve.
Rise up for a hefty breakfast and after, check out of the lodge then embark on 5 hours’ drive trip to Masai Mara National Reserve.
Lunch be enjoyed upon early arrival and later followed by a game drive for you to enjoy great views of reserve’s wildlife species such as leopards, cheetahs, lions, cape buffaloes, birds. Return for relaxation at the lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full day in Masai Mara Reserve.
Day 4 of your 7 days Kenya safari starts with breakfast and after, go explore and experience what the Masai Mara National Reserve has to offer the world. On your full day exploration, drive through the plains of the nature reserve while sighting zebras, lions, Masai giraffes, elands, cheetahs, birds. Also, don’t miss to witness the wildebeest migration as they cross through the Mara River but this may depend on your time of visiting Masai Mara. The wildebeest can be witnessed in millions, accompanied by several of gazelles and zebras.
Being a full day, you will enjoy a picnic lunch on the scenic banks of Mara River while keeping an eye on hippos, crocodiles plus several other species. Later in the afternoon, get on yet another remarkable game viewing experience in other parts of the Mara Reserve then return to lodge.
Day 5: From Masai Mara Reserve to Lake Naivasha
Have a delicious cup of tea or coffee and after, go enjoy sight of early morning risers and many predators. Return afterwards to check out then transfer to Lake Naivasha, about 5 hours’ drive.
Get here early and be served lunch at the lodge then you will have an afternoon bird watching tour in Lake Naivasha. This beautiful fresh lake lying on highest altitude of the rift valley is blessed with over 400 bird species including millions of greater and lesser flamingos, shoe bill storks, African spoonbills, grey crested helmeted shrike, red knobbed coot. After your exciting birding experience, return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Day 6: Leave Lake Naivasha for Amboseli – 5 hours’ drive.
Enjoy your morning breakfast and after, leave Lake Naivasha for Amboseli National Park 5 hours’ drive. Amboseli strategically lies along the floor of Mt. Kilimanjaro and it is popular for its huge population of elephants. Check into your preferred lodge and have lunch then get on an afternoon game drive to see elands, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, elephants, lions, birds and enjoy the beautiful backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro peak. Dine and retire for the night at the lodge.
Day 7: DEPART Amboseli National Park to Nairobi.
Get up early and enjoy your breakfast. After, check out of the lodge and set off for a quick game drive along the plains of Amboseli, then get back to Nairobi capital city for drop off to the lodge or at the airport for departure.
