3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Tour

The 3-day Bwindi Gorilla Tour offers an unforgettable experience in Africa’s premier gorilla destination, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda.

The highlight of this tour is the morning gorilla trekking, where you’ll encounter one of the park’s 20 habituated gorilla families spread across four sectors. In addition, you’ll visit the Batwa communities on the evening of the second day.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Transfer to the impenetrable forest of Bwindi which is well famous for harbouring the remaining mountain gorillas and research says that about half of their total population is found here. Pickup will be at either hotel or Entebbe international airport in case you arrive early morning.  Have a stopover at the Uganda equator where you will have photos and maybe purchase some souvenirs and snacks.

Later, proceed passing via the lake Mburo national park where you will spot some Zebras grazing with Ankole long-horned cattle. Have another stopover in Mbarara for your lunch. The journey continues through the Ankole cattle farms and then the terraced rolling hills of Kigezi and find your way into Bwindi national park to check in your booked accommodation.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest.

Have a briefing at the park offices immediately after breakfast where you will be instructed about the things to follow while trekking. And while here, you will be assigned in a group of 8 visitors to trek one gorilla family in the natural habitat. Trekking will be commencing with the guidance of the park ranger who is well informed and in few minutes or an hour, you will meet these gentle giants.

Watch them with keen eyes as they move, feed and groom their young ones. Thereafter taking memorable photos and videos, you will trek out of the forest and head back to the offices where you will be rewarded with a certificate. After heading to the lodge for your lunch which will be followed by visiting the Batwa pygmies where you will learn more about their culture.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala.

Transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe where you will have your enroute lunch with more photos at the equator followed by transfer to Kampala and be dropped at either airport or hotel in Kampala and this will be the end of this 3 days Bwindi n/park gorilla tour.

Gorilla Trekking Tour in Uganda in summary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Pickup: From your hotel or Entebbe International Airport (for early morning arrivals).

Experience: Observe gorillas in their natural habitat, watch their behavior, and take photos/videos.

Certification: Receive a certificate upon returning to the park offices.

Lunch: At the lodge.

Afternoon Activity: Visit Batwa pygmies and learn about their culture.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kampala

Departure: From Bwindi National Park.

Stopover: At the equator in Kayabwe for lunch and additional photos.

Return: Transfer to Kampala, drop-off at either the airport or your hotel.
